In this tutorial we walk through the settings on your Oh My, Hi site that affect how your site shows up when it is shared on Facebook. The two settings on your pages and posts that impact how they show up on Facebook are the Featured Image and Excerpt. Watch the video below to see where to change these settings.
In the video we mention that Facebook recommends an image size of 1200 x 630px. This size will look good on Facebook, but doesn't look great on on your blog page. We generally recommend using square images of 512 x 512px since those look best on your site. If its more important to you that the image fit the full space when shared on Facebook you can use the 1200 x 630px for featured images instead.
Your site should automatically notify Facebook of the changes within 15 minutes, but double-check your new settings have been reflected in Facebook by doing the following:
1) Go to the Facebook Sharing Debugger.
2) Type in your URL and click the Debug button.
3) Take a look at the response. If it matches your new settings, you're all done! If it doesn't match your new settings click the Scrape Again button.
After clicking the Scrape Again button you should see your new settings. If you still don't see your new settings in the Facebook Sharing Debugger, send us a message and we'll be happy to look into it for you!
