The Holiday Pattern makes it easy to publish a festive, ready-to-share page without starting from scratch. This tutorial will walk you through adding the pattern, customizing the content, connecting your form, updating blog sections, and removing helper notes—step by step.

By the end, you’ll have a complete, polished holiday page ready to share with your audience.

Step-by-Step Tutorial

Step 1: Add the Holiday Pattern to a New Page

  1. Create a new page in Oh My Hi.
  2. When the pattern options appear, look for the Holiday pattern and click to insert it.
  3. If you don’t see it:
    • Click the blue plus (+) in the upper-left corner.
    • Select Patterns.
    • Search for “Holiday”.
    • Click the pattern to add it to your page.

Step 2: Personalize the Header Section

  1. Replace the placeholder text with:
    • Your name
    • Your title
    • The products or services you represent
  2. Swap in a festive photo of yourself or your brand.

Step 3: Add Your Free Holiday Giveaway

This pattern includes a spot for a freebie—something helpful or fun your visitors can receive.

  1. Decide on your freebie (examples):
    • A holiday gift guide
    • A free book chapter
    • Downloadable coloring pages
  2. Create a simple image or graphic for the freebie.
  3. Replace the placeholder image in the pattern.
  4. Update the text so it describes your giveaway clearly.

Step 4: Connect Your Signup Form

To deliver your freebie, your page needs a form.

  1. Use the included tutorial link in the pattern to create your form if you haven’t made one yet.
  2. Click the form placeholder on your page.
  3. On the right-hand settings panel, choose Select a form.
  4. Pick the form you created for this giveaway.

Step 5: Remove Red “Note” Text

You may see red text throughout the pattern—these are notes just for you.

  1. Click the List Overview icon (the three stacked lines in the upper-left corner).
  2. Select any section with red text—this highlights the corresponding block in blue.
  3. Click the three dots (…) and choose Delete.
  4. Repeat until all note sections are removed.

Step 6: Customize the “Merry Must-Haves” Section

Use this area to highlight:

  • Products you love
  • Books you recommend
  • Helpful tools or services for the holiday season

Replace each placeholder with your own picks and descriptions.

Step 7: Update the Blog Sections (this is Optional)

The pattern includes two separate blog query loops, allowing you to pull in different types of posts.

To customize the first blog list:

  1. Click the first blog grid.
  2. In List Overview, select the Query Loop (it will highlight in blue).
  3. On the right-hand panel, open FiltersTaxonomies.
  4. Choose a Category to display (example: “Gift Guide”).

To customize the second blog list:

  1. Click the second grid.
  2. Highlight its Query Loop in List Overview.
  3. Adjust the offset to 0 if you want it to display your most recent post.
  4. Or choose a different category if you want this section to show different content.

NOTE: If you make no changes, the pattern automatically displays your most recent blog posts in both areas.
