How to Connect OHMi to Your ChatGPT Account

Introduction

Want ChatGPT to help you build pages and write posts right on your Oh My Hi site? Once you connect the OHMi AI Assistant, ChatGPT can work directly with your website. That means less copying and pasting and more getting things done. This tutorial walks you through the setup, and it only takes a few minutes.

📌 Before you start: We recommend logging in to your Oh My Hi website in the same browser you use for your ChatGPT account. This makes the connection step smoother, because you won’t need to sign in again when ChatGPT asks for permission.

⚠️ Screen looks different from the video? Log out of your AI tool and back in. If it still doesn’t match, the tool may have been updated. Just look for the option that makes the most sense and keep going.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open Your ChatGPT Settings

  1. Log in to your ChatGPT account.
  2. Look for your name or profile picture in the bottom left corner and click on it.
  3. Click Settings.

Step 2: Go to Plugins

  1. In the Settings menu, click Plugins.
  2. If you don’t see an option to add a plugin, click Browse Directory.
  3. Look in the upper right corner and click Add.
  4. Choose the option to add a custom MCP server. (That’s ChatGPT’s name for a connection like OHMi.)

Step 3: Name Your Connection

  1. In the name field, type something easy to recognize, like Oh My Hi followed by your website name (for example, Oh My Hi – yourdomain.com).

đź’ˇ If you manage more than one Oh My Hi site, including the website name makes it easy to tell your connections apart.

Step 4: Add Your OHMi Link

  1. Copy this link: https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-json/ohmyhi-mcp/mcp
  2. Paste it into the URL field.
  3. Replace yourdomain.com with your actual website address. For example, if your site is theoilgeek.com, your link would be https://www.theoilgeek.com/wp-json/ohmyhi-mcp/mcp

⚠️ Double-check that you replaced “yourdomain.com” with your own domain and kept the ending (.com, .ca, etc.) correct. If the link doesn’t match your site exactly, the connection won’t work.

Step 5: Create the Plugin

  1. Read through the information ChatGPT shows you so you understand what you’re connecting.
  2. Check the box for I understand.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Give it a moment while ChatGPT sets up the connection.

Step 6: Grant Permission to Your Website

  1. ChatGPT will ask you to grant permission. Click Continue to go to your website.
  2. If you’re asked to log in, sign in to your Oh My Hi website.
  3. Click Authorize.

💡 If you’re already logged in to your website in the same browser, you may not be asked to sign in again. It will go straight to the authorization screen.

✅ Once you authorize, you’ll be taken back to ChatGPT and you’ll see your website listed as a connection. You’re connected!

Wrap-Up

Nice work! Your Oh My Hi website is now connected to ChatGPT, so OHMi can help you create pages and posts directly on your site.
