How to Create Submenus in Your Oh My Hi Navigation

Introduction

Submenus are dropdowns that appear when you hover over a main navigation item, allowing visitors to see related pages without cluttering your top menu. They’re perfect for grouping pages under a single category, like “Services” or “Products.”

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open the Header Settings

  1. In your Oh My Hi dashboard, go to Settings.
  2. Click on Header.
  3. Find the Navigation section—either expand the document overview by using the dropdown arrows or click directly on the section of the header.

Step 2: Choose a Main Navigation Item

  1. Decide which menu item will have the submenu (e.g., Services).
  2. Make sure the page you want to add is already published or is an external URL—unpublished pages can’t be added to navigation.

Step 3: Add a Submenu Using the Toolbar

  1. Select your main menu item (e.g., Services).
  2. At the top menu, click the Add Sub Menu icon.
  3. Search for the page you want to add and select it.
  4. A dropdown will now appear under your main menu item.

Step 4: Another Option to Add a Submenu, is by Rearranging in Document Overview

  1. In the navigation overview, click the page you want to make a submenu item.
  2. Drag it slightly to the right beneath the main menu item.
  3. When you hover over the main menu item, it will automatically create a submenu.

Step 5: Review Your Navigation

Hover over your main menu items to make sure the submenus display correctly. Adjust as needed for a clean, user-friendly menu.

Wrap-Up

You’ve now created a submenu in your Oh My Hi navigation—making it easier for visitors to find related pages without overwhelming your main menu.
