Add or Update Book Series

Introduction

This tutorial is only applicable to customers using the Author template.

This tutorial will guide you through the process of creating or updating a book series.

Step-by-Step Guide

Access the Book Series Section

  1. Log into your website’s backend dashboard
  2. Navigate to Books in the main menu
  3. Select Series from the dropdown menu

Manage Existing Series

When you’re just getting started, you’ll see a placeholder series:

  • This placeholder is not needed and can be deleted
  • If you don’t have any series yet, you’ll start by adding your own

Add Your Book Series

  1. Enter the name of your book series in the name field (e.g., “My Book Series”)
  2. Notes about other fields:
    • Slug: You don’t need to worry about this field as it’s primarily used on the backend
    • Description: Optional field that isn’t displayed on your site, but can be used for your own reference
  3. Click the Add New button to create your series

Add Additional Series (If Needed)

  1. Repeat the process for any additional book series you want to add
  2. Enter the name for your next series
  3. Click Add New to create each additional series

Using Your Book Series

Once you’ve added your book series:

  • You’ll be able to select them when adding new books to your site
  • Follow this tutorial to add books to your site
  • Follow this tutorial to update the book series page that shows all books in the series
