Create an Email From a Page or Post

Introduction

This tutorial will show you how to take content from an existing page or post and turn it into an email template that you can use for your email marketing.

Step-by-Step Guide

1) Access the page you want to convert

  1. Navigate to the page or post that contains the content you want to use in your email
  2. Click the “Edit Page” button to open the page editor

2) Copy the content

  1. With the page editor open, click the 3 dots in the top-right to open the settings menu and locate the option to “Copy all blocks”
  2. Click this option to copy all the content blocks from your page

3) Create a new email template

  1. Navigate to the CRM section of your Oh My Hi site
  2. Select “Email Templates”
  3. Click “Create New Template”

4) Choose the appropriate builder

  1. Select the builder that uses the block editor (similar to the page and post editor)
    • Note: While the visual builder is often recommended for its ease of use, the block editor works better for transferring content directly from pages or posts.

5) Paste and refine your content

  1. Delete any placeholder content in the template
  2. Press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac) to paste all your copied blocks
  3. Review the pasted content and make necessary adjustments:
    • Remove any elements that aren’t supported in emails (like video blocks)
    • Consider adding screenshots with links for video content
    • Resize images as needed for email format
    • Shorten the content if necessary (emails are typically best when concise)

Best Practices for Email Content

  • Consider summarizing longer content rather than including the entire page or post
  • Add links to the original page or post where readers can find more details
  • Replace video embeds with screenshots that link to your page or post
  • Keep your emails concise and focused

By following these steps, you can easily repurpose your existing content for email marketing campaigns, follow-up sequences, or automated emails.
