Introduction
An anchor link lets you jump to a specific part of the same page when you click a button or link — perfect for directing visitors to FAQs, forms, or sections further down the page.
Step-by-Step Tutorial: How to Create an Anchor Link
Step 1: Choose a Button or Word
- Go to the page where you want to add the anchor link.
- Find the button (or word) that you want to add the link to (video e.g., “Got Questions?” button).
- Click on the button and then click on the link option.
- Type in your anchor name using a hashtag format. For example:
#got-questions
NOTE: Separate words with a hyphen, not a space.
Step 2: Copy the Anchor Name
- Copy the text that appears after the hashtag — in this case:
got-questions
(Don’t include the # symbol when pasting it in the next step.)
Step 3: Add the Anchor to the Target Section
- Scroll down your page to find the section you want the button to jump to (e.g., a contact form or FAQ).
- Select the entire section — look for a blue outline indicating the full section is selected.
- Go to the settings panel for that section.
NOTE: If the settings aren’t open, click the small settings box near the top right of the screen (near the publish/save button). - Scroll down to the Advanced section.
- In the HTML Anchor field, paste in the anchor name (again, without the hashtag), in this example:
got-questions
Step 4: Test It Out
- Save or publish your page.
- Open a preview of the page in a new tab.
- Click the button — it should now jump directly to that section of the page you wanted to direct your visitor to!
🙌 That’s It!
You’ve now created a smooth-scroll anchor link. It’s a simple way to make your pages more user-friendly and easy to navigate.
