Introduction
Submenus are dropdowns that appear when you hover over a main navigation item, allowing visitors to see related pages without cluttering your top menu. They’re perfect for grouping pages under a single category, like “Services” or “Products.”
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the Header Settings
- In your Oh My Hi dashboard, go to Settings.
- Click on Header.
- Find the Navigation section—either expand the document overview by using the dropdown arrows or click directly on the section of the header.
Step 2: Choose a Main Navigation Item
- Decide which menu item will have the submenu (e.g., Services).
- Make sure the page you want to add is already published or is an external URL—unpublished pages can’t be added to navigation.
Step 3: Add a Submenu Using the Toolbar
- Select your main menu item (e.g., Services).
- At the top menu, click the Add Sub Menu icon.
- Search for the page you want to add and select it.
- A dropdown will now appear under your main menu item.
Step 4: Another Option to Add a Submenu, is by Rearranging in Document Overview
- In the navigation overview, click the page you want to make a submenu item.
- Drag it slightly to the right beneath the main menu item.
- When you hover over the main menu item, it will automatically create a submenu.
Step 5: Review Your Navigation
Hover over your main menu items to make sure the submenus display correctly. Adjust as needed for a clean, user-friendly menu.
Wrap-Up
You’ve now created a submenu in your Oh My Hi navigation—making it easier for visitors to find related pages without overwhelming your main menu.
