Affiliate Program March Updates: Increasing Engagement and Streamlining Communication

We’ve been busy behind the scenes trying new ways to boost engagement, simplify communication, and celebrate the incredible efforts of our affiliate community. The program, powered by Oh My Hi, our platform that helps small business owners, creators, and direct sellers across all industries build beautiful, easy-to-use websites, is growing month over month. If you’re here from Modern Direct Seller (hey, friends!), our sister company that partners with direct sales organizations on training and strategy, this update gives you a front-row seat to the real-time tactics we’re putting into action. Whether you’re leading a salesforce or exploring a referral program of your own, we’re here to share what’s working, what’s not, and where we’re headed next.

Here’s a look at what we’ve accomplished, what we’ve learned, and what’s next for our affiliate program.

How March Initiatives Worked Out

Oh My Hi Happy Hour: Building Community Through Conversation

In March, we launched our first-ever Oh My Hi Happy Hour, a casual, mid-month event designed to engage affiliates in a relaxed, conversational setting. The goal was to foster a sense of community and provide a space for open dialogue. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with affiliates appreciating the opportunity to connect and share ideas in a more informal environment.

Community Point System: Encouraging Engagement

We’ve launched a self-hosted community platform for our affiliate community to engage outside of traditional platforms like Facebook. This gives us more control and better organization of the content.

Getting our community to engage on our platform has been a challenge, and most engagement is still happening in our Oh My Hi Facebook Group.

To encourage activity on our new platform, we introduced a community point system. This initiative rewards affiliates for participation and engagement within our platform. We are starting to see increased interaction and enthusiasm, as affiliates embraced the gamified approach to community building.

Streamlined Communication: Less is More

We recognized that our previous communication strategy—daily posts from Monday to Friday—was overwhelming for affiliates. In response, we streamlined our approach to include:

  • A Tuesday video for updates.
  • A Thursday written recap for key takeaways.
  • A Friday fun post to end the week on a high note.

This shift has been well-received, with affiliates finding it easier to stay informed without feeling inundated.

Affiliate Recognition: Celebrating Milestones

We also focused on recognizing affiliate achievements by awarding community badges when affiliates reach various levels in our Beach Retreat incentive trip.

We also give affiliates a shoutout in the community when they make their first sale. This small but meaningful gesture has motivated affiliates and reinforced their sense of accomplishment.

March Initiatives: Preliminary Results and Goals

Podcast Features: Expanding Our Reach

In March, we appeared on Megan Sumrell’s Work + Life Harmony Podcast podcast to share insights about our affiliate program and the broader shift in the direct sales industry. These appearances have sparked interest from potential partners and opened the door to new opportunities.

Partner Conversations: Exploring Niche Collaborations

We began discussions with niche partners, including lactation consultants and authors, to explore targeted affiliate recruitment. These conversations are helping us identify new ways to expand our reach and share Oh My Hi with larger audiences.

What’s Next: April Plans

Sales Pages for Template Niches

In April, we’re rolling out sales pages for each template niche, complete with demos tailored to those specific audiences. This initiative will enable affiliates to target their efforts more effectively and connect with the right customers.

Templates for Affiliates

To support our affiliates, we’re developing pre-built email and website blog post and promotional sections that affiliates can easily add to their website, send through the Oh My Hi CRM or add to their blog posts. These resources will make it easier for affiliates to share Oh My Hi and get more referrals.

Refining Communication

Building on the success of our streamlined communication strategy, we’re continuing to refine our approach. Our goal is to ensure that affiliates receive the information they need in a clear, concise, and engaging format.

Recognition and Rewards

We’re exploring additional ways to recognize and reward our affiliates, including celebrating milestones and providing tangible incentives for their efforts. This focus on recognition is a key part of our strategy to motivate and retain affiliates.

Why This Matters

At Oh My Hi, we’re committed to leading the way by testing new strategies, learning from our experiences, and sharing our insights. Our goal is to create a program that not only drives results but also fosters a sense of community and purpose among affiliates.

If you’d like to join us on the journey, sign up for Oh My Hi or if you are interested in becoming a referral partner send us a message.
